i love marine life, so i wanted to do a few pieces based off of it. very clearly these works are heavily stylized, but i wanted to attempt to capture the beauty that creatures like sharks (an often overfeared species of animal) excude when they swim so gracefully in their oceans
the sharks to the right of this text are thresher sharks! a neat fact about them is that they use their tails to knock out prey for a quick and easy meal (i got this information thanks to my lovely girlfriend)

above is a stylistic interpretation of what a leviathan would look like--when i think of a leviathan i dont see a giant beast of a sea serpent but rather something more of an apex predator--something akin to a megalodon, if anything
while i was in the process of making these artworks (even if one is unfinished), i was experimenting with color pencils to try and see if i could mimmic the style of scratch sheets--the things that children usually play with, the black sheets of paper that scratch into a rainbow color when you make lines.
i wanted to make it colorful because the ocean tends to be more vibrant than the land ever will be--even if most of it is covered in a wash of sea blue and other variants of marine colors--take coral reefs for example! plenty of fish are colorful and pretty to look at, and i wanted my art to capture that exact whimsy you'd see if you visited your local aquarium and saw all the brightly-colored tropical fish
